Design & Colour with Laura Thomas

Do you love making but struggle to develop a personal design approach that is uniquely yours?

Laura will introduce you to the essential foundations of textile design, leaving you full of inspiration and concrete ideas to take to the loom or any textile discipline. 

You will be guided in how to make a mood board which captures your personal ideas and creative direction. Using your mood board, you will then delve into colour theory and develop practical yarn wraps and mixed media colour studies, gaining a deeper understanding of how material and hue interact.

By the end of the day, you will walk away with a robust, personal design foundation—a toolkit of concepts, colour studies, and yarn wraps ready to serve as the blueprint for exciting, high-quality future design projects.

Workshop Cost:

Full Member: £40 | Non-Member and Friend: £80

Please contact the Guild Workshop Secretary directly if you wish to attend a workshop and are not a member. Please note if a workshop is very popular priority is given to full members.

Bookings are open one month prior to the workshop. Workshops should be paid for to the Guild account as a direct bank transfer. Members can find the bank details on the GGInfo WhatsApp group and payments must be made with reference to the workshop being attended.
