Membership at the Gwent Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers

Joining the Gwent Guild means becoming part of a welcoming community of people who love working with fibre, colour and cloth. Whether you're interested in weaving, spinning, natural dyeing, or simply learning a new craft, our Guild offers a warm and supportive place to develop your skills.

 

What Membership Includes

 

🌿Weekly meetings: 

Meet fellow makers, enjoy talks and demonstrations, share your projects, and learn new techniques.

🧶Workshops and Learning:

  • Members get priority access to workshops covering: 

  • Hand weaving

  • Spinning

  • Dyeing (natural and synthetic)

  • Fibre preparation

  • Textile design and finishing

 

🎛 Equipment Use: 

Members can use the wide range of Guild equipment - perfect for learning before buying your own.

📚 Shared Knowledge: 

Join a community where people freely share expertise, tips, and creative inspiration. 

🎨 Exhibitions & Events: 

Take part in regional and national events, demonstrations, and craft shows with other Guild members.

 

 

Who Can Join? 

 

Anyone! You don't need experience - just an interest in textiles. Our members range from complete beginners to professional makers.

If you are curious about weaving, spinning or dyeing, or simply want to try a new creative hobby, we'd love to welcome you.

High Cross Community Hall. Church Close, Rogerstone, Newport, NP10 9SH.

The Gwent Guild membership year runs from October to September and offers flexibility to suit different levels of involvement.

  • Full access to all Guild meetings (Tuesdays & Saturdays)

  • Borrowing rights for books and equipment

Joining Us

Newcomers are welcome to join a meeting as a visitor. If you would like to join us at one of our weekly Guild meetings, get in touch below with our membership secretary to arrange a visit.
