We start our monthly meetings with show and tell of what members have taken off from their looms. This month was a splendid treat, Hugh’s daughter gets married next month and his unique gifts are hand woven stoles using his Gilmore floor loom warped with un-mercerised cotton with a weft of mercerised cotton, and a beautiful huck lace pattern which catches the light.

Kevin’s sumptuous twill woollen throw used Harrisville yarn, and a temple for the straight selvedge. He has been weaving less than a year!

Rainbow warp and weft was the theme for Elaine’s fabric that covered this book and the ‘too lovely to use’ as tea towels.
These are Marilyn’s results from a Cally Booker double weave online course.

The focus of our morning led by Marilyn and Lorna was a further exploration of Krogbragd – a weft faced weave using three shafts set up as a point twill pattern. It’s a slow process with three wefts making one pick. It is possible to make three shafts on a rigid heddle!
