Meeting HRH Princess Anne at Greenmeadow Community Farm

On 21st July Greenmeadow Community Farm welcomed a very special visitor - HRH Princess Anne. She met staff and volunteers to learn how the farm teaches children about farming and food, animals and sustainability. HRH Princess Anne undertook a full tour the site which has undergone major refurbishment reopening in September 2025.

Five members of our Guild had the privilege and honour of demonstrating our heritage crafts. Sue Cromack and Rev Kevin Hasler were spinning using traditional spinning wheels, Jo Glenn spun using a drop spindle, she also displayed a variety of naturally dyed yarn samples. Danielle Jeremiah was weaving using a Rigid Heddle loom, and Danielle Fry was carding fleece.

HRH Princess Anne was generous with her time, she showed great interest in the crafts demonstrated, asking Danielle about the dyed fleece from her own Wensleydale sheep.
